| Welcome to the Queensland Bookbinders' Guild |
| The objectives of the Guild are to promote, foster and practise the arts of bookbinding and related arts. |

After four years of hard work, June McNicol’s book, Twenty-Five Years of the Queensland Bookbinders’ Guild, is finished. The book is a history of the Guild’s journey from its foundation in 1977, with a membership of nine absolute beginners, to its 25th
anniversary, celebrated in 2002 by a major exhibition of members’ work at the Queensland State Library.
22cm x 30cm, 80 pages, 20 black and white photos, 8 full colour pages

Meetings and Workshops |
|
| The Guild holds monthly meetings at which experts talk on, and demonstrate, subjects of common interest. In addition, weekend workshops are held where members have access to the Guild's extensive range of tools and equipment. | |

Courses, Festivals and Demonstrations |
|
| The Guild also runs courses on introductory and intermediate bookbinding. Members are encouraged to participate in Arts and Crafts festivals and public demonstrations wherever possible. | |
|
Newsletter |
|
| All members receive a quarterly newsletter which contains topical news, reports of meetings and technical articles. New members will receive all the newsletters for the year in which they join. Members can use this form to submit articles to the newsletter. | |
|
Library |
|
| Members of the Guild can borrow books, videos, etc., from our extensive library. A library catalogue is available online. | |
|
Equipment |
|
| The Guild owns various pieces of bookbinding equipment such as a guillotine, a gold blocking press and type, which can be used by members. Also available is a growing range of finishing tools which can be borrowed. | |
|
Materials |
|
One of the benefits of membership of the Guild is the opportunity to buy, through our Purchasing Officer, small quantities of materials which are not normally available to individuals.
